Amy Moore is the Owner and Artistic Director of Studio 56 Dance Center. She has been studying dance for 33 years and teaching dance for 20 years. She has trained with companies from LA to NYC, including Tremaine, Backstage, The Edge and Martha Graham. Over the years her dance training has lead her to several performances nationwide, including NFL and NBA games. She spent the summer of 2000 in Las Vegas Nevada where she was the master teacher for the Vegas Valley Stars Junior Drill Team. Amy expanded her training and also learned new teaching techniques while in Las Vegas. Amy has been a master teacher for conventions, camps and workshops throughout the U.S. Her credits also include choreography for High Schools, pageants, NBA dance teams, Ballet West, Jr. Dance Companies and several champion soloists. Here recent work involves Choreography for Zimmer Orthopedics 20th Anniversary Video for the Natural Knee titled I CAN DANCE. ¨Amy was a part of the talented Utah Jazz Dancers for 4 seasons. She has enjoyed performing and being involved in community events. She was a Para-educator at Evergreen Junior High and Cottonwood High, where she worked with children with emotional and behavioral disorders.¨Outside of the studio, Amy is co-director of the Xtreme Danzz Competition held each April. The competition has expanded to 2 venues, offering a wonderful experience for all levels of dancers. She values having the opportunity to provide a positive competitive environment to dancer here in Utah. Within the community she is the Entertainment Chair for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) assisting with entertainment for their annual Light the Night Walk. Kellie Van Dyke– Tumbling and STAR Instructor
Kellie trained in competitive gymnastics at Missy Marlowe’s as a young girl then went on to train in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and tumbling at The Winner School. She participated in Varsity Cheer, Songleading, and Dance Company all three years of High School at Cottonwood. Kellie continued Songleading at Salt Lake Community College where her team took 1st place at nationals. She started teaching hip hop, tumbling and jazz in 2004. Kellie has choreographed several competition routines for local studios and high schools. She has taught for dance camps all over the valley. Miss Kellie is TRX, Pilates Mat and Xtend Barre certified and has been teaching at Xtend for over 3years. Health and Fitness is a new found passion that goes great with loving to teach! She is a mother of two and excited to have a dancer enrolled at Studio 56!
Destiney Cupp– Hip Hop, STARS, Tumbling and Boys Club Instructor.
Destiney has been dancing ever since she can remember; if she was walking she was dancing! It wasn’t until 8th grade when she was inspired by her first hip hop teacher, this was the motivation that pushed her to the next level and really became interested in the art of dance. She was a member of Dance Company at West Jordan High School for 2 years and that is where she started developing her love for choreography and performing with her team. After high school she started teaching Adult Hip Hop and Jazz classes at Golds Gym around the Salt Lake Valley and is still continuing that exciting journey, this is where she started pushing her dance career to the next level. Destiney has studied many styles of dance including Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical and Zumba; she has had the pleasure of being able to teach children ages 5-18 as well as adults. She had an amazing opportunity being a guest choreographer for Taylorsville High School and Brighton High Schools Dance Company over the past few years. Destiney is very happy to be part of Studio 56! Teaching all these amazing children and adults brings me absolute happiness and I love every second! To me the only thing greater than my love of dance is passing on that love to others.
Jaysalee Haupt- STAR, Preschool Dance/Tumbling and Company Instructor
Since the age of 3 Jaysalee has had a love for dance. She has won numerous awards at competitions and conventions including an assistant position and scholarship with Tremaine Dance convention, national solo and group titles, college scholarships and best choreography awards. Jaysalee worked as a dancer in the popular movie High School Musical 2 and has had the opportunity to assist and work closely with Liz Imperio. Along with Teaching at local studios, She has taught at mini conventions and choreographed at Payson and Orem High School.
Along with all her dance students she claims as her children, Jaysalee just had her first daughter At the end of our 2016-17 dance season. Jaysalee loves teaching all ages and styles and is excited to start her 3rd year teaching at Studio 56!!!
Victoria Bean-STAR, Preschool Dance, Boys Club and Company Instructor
Victoria Bean has a passion for dance, she has been teaching it for 7 years and has been dancing herself for close to 23 years. Growing up she did competitive studio dance, jr. high cheer and was the captain of her drill team in high school. Victoria graduated college with a bachelor’s in the health sciences, a minor in dance and a master’s in education. While completing these degrees Victoria was on the U of U ballroom dance team and participated in many modern dance performances. She spent 2 years as an assistant drill team coach for Westlake High school. Currently Victoria teaches health and dance at Hillcrest Jr. High school, where she is also heavily involved in the school musical and dance club. Victoria also performs and competes salsa dance. Victoria is well trained in many styles of dance and is an experienced choreographer, she is excited to share her love of dance with all the amazing students at Studio 56!
Tessa Yates- STAR and Tumbling Instructor
Tessa started dancing at Studio 56 when she was 6 years old. She found her passion for dance and tumbling during her 7 years at Studio 56. She trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, and tumbling. Tessa continued dancing in high school as a member of the Murray High drill team. She was a captain her senior year on the team, during which time the Spartonians were top 5 in the state. Tessa started her dance teaching career at the age of 15. She began by assisting Amy Moore at Studio 56. Tessa has taught students ages 4-15 in her own pretumbling, tumbling, jazz, and ballet classes since graduating high school in 2014. Tessa is currently a senior at Brigham Young University studying Therapeutic Recreation. She hopes to incorporate dance and movement therapy into her future practice. Tessa is excited to be a teacher at Studio 56 Dance Center, the studio where she originally found her love for dance!
Pam Greer- Preschool Dance and Tumbling, Jazz and Ballet Instructor
Pamela Greer found her passion for life through dance. Taking a variety of classes as a child, she truly fell in love with it in her early teens. Much praise is due to her many amazing instructors for not only the dance skills they taught, but also for the many ways they have shaped her life. She enjoyed competing with the best in local and national competitions, as well as the opportunity for more diverse training in national conventions where she was awarded with many scholarships. In high school, she enjoyed being a part of the Drill Team and president of the Dance Company at Murray High School. After high school, she continued her training in Los Angeles at studios like The Edge, and Tremaine. Pamela has taught dance for over 25 years and truly strives to help children find their own love for dance and life. Her greatest joys are her two sons that fill her life with sports and fun!
Jessica Patterson- Ballet and Jazz Instructor
Jessica comes to Utah from the island of Maui, Hawaii, where she began her ballet training at the humble age of 3. Quickly realizing it was her passion as she progressed into her pre-teen years, she studied ballet across the U.S. during her summers, while simultaneously incorporating jazz, tap, and modern dance into her repertoire. She attended summer intensive courses at Maple Conservatory of Dance in Orange County, CA, Carolina Ballet in Raleigh, NC, Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, IN, and spent two summers right here in Utah with Ballet West. In 2010, Jessica was offered a place at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C., but decided to finish high school instead, and continued to train year-round on Maui and on the mainland. In 2012, she was accepted as a freshman into the University of Utah’s Ballet Department, where she spent the 2012 – 2013 school year majoring in ballet pedagogy. After changing her major during the summer of 2013, she stayed involved in dance by teaching at various studios and attending open classes at both Ballet West and Millenium Dance Complex. Jessica is so excited to join the Studio 56 dance community.
Erik Alcox- Tumbling and Acro Instructor
Erik has studied tumbling technique through gymnastics training for over 15 years in various venues including; Pinnacles Gymnastics, Gymnastic Village, and Black Diamond. While also competing in multiple disciplines of gymnastic development, including; TNT (tumbling and trampoline), and mens gymnastics. Then furthering his development through a position on the University of Utah’s collegiate cheer team learning the synergy needed for cheer leading/partner stunting,. In addition to gymnastic training, Erik studied dance technique for a brief period in his youth. In this time he was able to grasp the understanding of specified movement that is associated with an aesthetically pleasing gracefulness to help benefit showmanship and competition oriented students. Erik works to develop the skills of young dancers and tumblers alike to promote physical and mental awareness.
Courtnee Hogan- Tumbling and Acro Instructor
Courtnee was a gymnast for 13 years at Academy West Gymnastics. Through gymnastics she practiced ballet techniques and gained knowledge of being able to make movement flow from one to another with ease. She is currently a member of UXC’s open level four cheer team and has 2 years all star cheer experience, 2 years of high school cheer experience at Bingham, and 1 year collegiate cheer experience at SLCC. Her teaching experience includes currently teaching the special needs cheer team at UXC, 2 years of pre team gymnastics, and 2 years preschool tumbling director.
Kory Uyetake- Owner of Utah Xtreme Cheer
Kory and Morgan are on their fifth year as proud owners of Utah Xtreme Cheer. Studio 56 has been holding classes at UXC for 4 years and will continue to hold several of our tumbling classes at UXC this season. UXC is USASF (United States All Star Federation) Member gym.Â Kory and Morgan are credentialed with USAF through level 5.
Kory’s resume consist of 3yrs as a University of Utah Cheerleader, coach for Churchill Junior High, staff member for COA, U of U Assistant cheer coach from 2006-2008 and head coach from 2008-2009. Morgan resume presents 2yrs as a University of Utah Cheerleader, 5yrs as a Junior High Cheer Coach, 2yrs as the assistant coach at Juan Diego and also a staff member with COA. UXC’s goal is to help our dancers develop and improve their skills in tumbling. They believe this pursuit will instill skills and confidence that they will carry with them the rest of their lives.
