WELCOME

A very special welcome to all the “new” dancing faces here at the Studio.  We are so excited to have you be a part of our dancing family.  We have a number of fun things coming up and can't wait to have you join us.  Just a friendly reminder to everyone to bring back their all about me paper.  The students love to read up on all their new friends!!

REGISTRATION PAPERS

Each August we have everyone re-register for classes.  This helps us update our records and also reminds you of the studio policies.  We are missing several registration forms at this time.  As of September 1st any dancer that has a form missing will be asked to observe class.  This is a huge liability for the studio and we need all forms updated in order to have your dancer participate.  Thanks for your help!!

I NEED YOUR HELP

When parking at the studio please be courteous to the neighboring houses.  Do not block their driveways or trash their yards.  The neighbors to the East would appreciate us not parking in front of their house any more.  The minimal visibility makes it hard for them to pull out of their driveway.  Also, please limit your Cemetery parking.  If you do decide to park in the cemetery make sure you are all facing the same way and on the same side of the road (not both).  If you would like to help us out by carpooling let your teacher know and we can help you find someone in your area.  I appreciate all of your help in this matter.  If we all work together things will be GREAT!!

WALK OUT

Please review this policy in your registration papers.  We do walk out for our younger classes.  This helps by not having to have you cross the street with your dancer, it keeps traffic moving and helps those parents with younger children by not having to get everyone out to pick up their dancer.  Please DO NOT park in the lane during pick-up..

DANCERS OF THE MONTH

We are excited to bring back an old tradition this year…  We are going to be spotlighting our hardest workers in ballet, jazz and tumbling each month.  Look forward to reading up about them on the website under announcements or in the waiting room..

CONGRATULATIONS TO SEPTEMBERS DANCERS OF THE MONTH!!

Jazz: Gillian Dent, Sr Company

Ballet: McCall Gray, Sr Company

Tumbling: Josie Horner, Teeny Tumbling

PARENT OBSERVATION DAY

Just a reminder parent observation day is your child's first class of the month.  On this day please be courteous by keeping the noise level down and cell phones off.  We would like to minimize the distractions as much as possible.  This policy also applies to classes at UXC.

LABOR DAY

The studio will be closed September 6th for Labor Day.  Have a wonderful weekend..

ADULT CLASSES-Zumba and Jazz

Hey Dancers- The adult jazz class will be starting Thursday September 9th, it will be every Thursday from 9-10pm.  We are also starting up another ZUMBA night. Join us FREE on Monday’s 9-10pm in September as we launch our NEW night with Satomi Biggs..  That makes Zumba 2x a week!!!  Don’t forget about Wednesday’s with Chenelle!!  If you are looking for a great workout don’t miss this PARTY!!  Hope to see you all there!!

HAZEN/ELEMENTS PICTURES

On display in the Studio is our wonderful professional picture’s by Hazen.  Each year we offer our students the opportunity to have their pictures taken.  In the Fall we do make-over pictures completely optional to all our students (mandatory to COMPANY) and in the Spring we will do class pictures around the same time as Spring Concert.  For more information on our upcoming pictures please contact the studio for a flyer.  If you would like to reserve a spot you will need to pay a non-refundable $30 deposit to Team Hazen. This year’s picture date is going to be Saturday November 6th. This year we will be going to Hazen studio's in Kaysville for pictures and they will be coming to the studio for proofs date TBA.They do your make-up, hair touch up (full hair additional) and in my opinion awesome pictures. Please call for a sign up time.NOTE: Pictures are mandatory for Company and offered to everyone else in the studio.  We will have times set aside for anyone outside the studio that is interested along with family time slots. They do wonderful family photos.

FOOTUNDEE FRENZE!!  LAST BALLET SHOE ORDER UNTIL JANUARY

This month buy a footundeez and get 20% OFF!!!  We will also be making our last ballet shoe order on the 15th of September.  If you need to try anything on please inquire with your teacher.  At the time of your order your account will be charged in full.  Orders can be taken over the phone, via email or at the studio..  There are order forms available in the waiting room on top of the cubbies.

TROUPE SWEATS

Troupe sweat deposits are due Sept. 15th, (CASH account due by Sept 10th).  We will be doing try ons in class this month. Every 2 years we order new sweats that will be worn to and from performances and class. We are on our 2nd year!  If you had sweats last year and they still fit you will NOT need new ones!  However, if you are in need of a new piece please let us know so we can get it ordered.

I would like to give you a heads up on our Christmas show this year.  We plan to have everyone participate in the show (excluding tumbling, Hip Hop and adult classes).  Some classes will be decided by their enrollment, preschoolers may be combined with another class depending on size. PAJAMA DRIVE, BENEFIT CONCERT AND CHRISTMAS PARTY

You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).  Our studio is full of loving, heartfelt people that want to make a difference in someone's life!!It’s time for our dancers and their families to get a head start on collecting pajamas and books for those in need.  They will be donated right here in Utah during the holiday.   Start watching for those deals TODAY!!  We accept everything from infant to adult.  Put us down on your black Friday shopping list…  We will be holding a competition within our studio as well as against our sister studio’s to see who can collect the most PJ’s and books!!  The top collectors will be announced at our benefit concert coming up in December.. Go 56ers!! We will be having a small studio party following our performance at the Benefit Concert, more details will follow next month.

DEMERITS START THIS MONTH-COMPANY

Company it's time to get down to business!! Hair, attire, attendance and communication are important to making this a successful year.  Just a reminder that each parent and dancer signed her demerit sheet and will be held responsible is she is put on probation or dismissed from the team.

COMPANY ORDERS

Everything is coming right along with our orders.  We will be sending items home as they arrive.

NO SCARECROW FESTIVAL

I received an email last week with a cancellation notice for the Scarecrow Festival.  The email stated… There were concerns that West Ridge Academy had to take into consideration and because of those concerns we will not have the Scarecrow Festival this year. We are bummed and will continue working on other performance opportunities.
