I want to thank all of you that brought new faces to the studio.  We have now closed our enrollment in most of our classes to prepare ourselves for concert.  If you happen to know of any potential students please send them our way so we can put them on the waiting list for summer.

Studio 56 is excited to announce that we will be offering an Academic Preschool program for those 3-5yrs in the Fall of 2010.  This unique program will save you time and $$!  It will incorporate academic preschool along with 45 minutes of structured physical activity into its daily schedule.  Our Academic Preschool includes our Preschool Dance and Tumbling program.  The focus will be on developing your child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills.  Our academic curriculum is creative, exciting and challenging.  This unique program will have small classes with the option to be a co-op parent that helps out in class.  Register today online @ www.studio56dance.com!!

CONCERT

Spring Concert 2010 is titled "Calendar Girls”.  Last year’s concert was a memorable experience and we are excited to make this year even better.  With a fun theme we will be demonstrating our talents at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center June 15th and 16th. 

Now that our enrollment has closed it's time to start concert routines.  Please encourage good attendance and practicing at home.

This year TROUPE will be performing a jazz and ballet piece at concert.  We will be reusing the black unitards from Christmas for one of our costumes with a new accessory.  The other routine will acquire a new costume.  If you are joining our classes since January an additional $30 will be added to your costume deposit towards a unitard. 

Hey dads it is your turn to perform with us at Concert.  New this year we are going to add a dad and dancer/tumbler dance routine to our show!!  It will be a FUN upbeat routine with your dancer/tumbler.  We will have simple costuming and a few practices..  This routine will be fun for every age of dancer/tumbler.

Dads will be wearing a Studio 56 golf t with dance dad printed on it.  Dancers/tumblers will be wearing this year’s Concert t-shirt.   Samples will be available at the studio for both.

Next month order forms will be sent home with each concert participant.  On this form there will be a spot to order your shirt for you and your dad.. (Company and Troupe will already have shirts for finale)  We want all of you to participate; it is going to be AWESOME!! 

If your dad is unavailable it’s ok!  Grab any male/father figure and bring them along for the fun!!  Please shoot us a quick email and let us know if you and your child plan to participate so we can start planning!!

A $15, $30 or $45 deposit (PER CLASS ENROLLED, tumbling will perform at concert) towards costumes will run with AUTO tuition on March 5th.  If you are a CASH account the deposit will be due by the 1st. We are going to start ordering costumes next week, dancers without a deposit will not have a costume ordered. (NOT INCLUDING COMPANY UNLESS THEY ARE PLANNING TO PERFORM WITH THE HIP HOP CLASS).  Please look over the following deposit description to view details.  Costume totals will range from $40-80. You will need to pay a deposit on every routine your daughter is performing in.  An order form with additional items NOT included will be sent home in the next couple weeks. 

Last year we took a break from our traditional Concert T with the cast list..  We are bringing it back this year cuter than ever!  We will be offering a rainbow of colors with our concert art on the front and the cast list on the back.  We will be wearing these shirts for the finale (Troupe and Company), tumbling and the daddy daughter routine.  They will be optional to everyone else in the Studio! Please order them with the order form next month.

In celebration of St Patrick's day the week of 15-19th will be wear green week.. Be creative!!

It was so much fun, we are doing it again!! Wear you Studio 56 sweats or any Studio 56 attire to school on Monday, March 8^th to show your Studio 56 PRIDE!!

Just a reminder, as announced in the January News: Troupe teams will be competing at one Competition this year.  Mark your calendars for April 24th @ Layton High School.  You will be competing at the Xtreme Danzz Stage competition.  We will be competing one of our concert pieces..  A $16 comp fee will be due March 16^th for AUTO pay or the 10^th for CASH accounts!! More details to follow!! 

We are lucky to be adding a couple of gym practice to the schedule.  One will be a staging rehearsal and the 2nd will be a dress rehearsal.  Mark your calendars for the Saturday the 6th and 13th of March at the Franklin Covey Business Park in West Valley.  Please check the calendar for time details.. Please wear your pink top and black bikers and bring all appropriate shoes to the first one and come dressed in Jazz costume first to the DR.

DON’T FORGET!!  We are having our annual good luck together again this year!!  Please pick ONE of the two days, come to the studio, and bring YOU and a smile! We want to keep it a secret so NO dancers PLEASE!! Here are the days: Feb 26th or March 5th @ 7:30pm. (time change due to UXC gym change)

Competition is right around the corner.  Please make sure you fit in time to practice every day at home.  A few of you should bring a video camera in and get your routine recorded. 

I hope everyone has booked their hotel for Logan if applicable!!  We are going to have a blast!! Also, at this time all accounts should be paid in full for competition. Costumes are coming home soon and everything through March needs to be cleared.

Our first competition is creeping up quickly.  As far as details about each competition, you will not get any until the Monday before.  Just a reminder at our STUDIO the award ceremonies are mandatory so remember to set aside your entire Saturday to be safe.  You need to wear your team sweats and Studio 56 tank to awards to show your studio pride!!
